I love the bit about dancing as medicine. That is some hard-earned truth right there. Also ptarmigan have a special place in my heart. We don't have them around here (Midwest U.S.) but they are like a prairie chicken...something both very wild and domestic about them in my mind.

Last - Wittgenstein - I don't know too much about him other than the old lady I used to live with (community living) got her philosophy Ph.D studying him. Says he blew her mind open. So let me know if you do end up liking/reading him

Wow this is immense. I haven’t seen NE in years but it’s made me want to go back there and linger for a while. So much fun.

it's recently come to streaming services after years of not being able to because of music rights issues, but it was available to watch on archive.org for a bit too. It's one of the few shows from that time period that still holds up today.

I have not watched Northern Exposure, Sarah, but I am intrigued now to find it after reading this!

Thank you so much for the mention of my dance piece.

It really is an amazing show Wendy, well worth a watch. I think it was a bigger deal in the states than it was here, but I vaguely remember standing on the stairs as a kid to sneak watch bits of it on channel 4.
